The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has elected a new executive board, comprising public service media leaders from across Europe.
Nine board members were elected at the EBU’s 93rd General Assembly in Lausanne, Switzerland and will help lead the organisation for the next two years.
They will work with the EBU’s President Delphine Ernotte Cunci from France Télévisions and Vice-President Cilla Benkö from Swedish Radio, who were both elected at the previous session of the General Assembly this summer.
Joining the board for the first time are Nathalie Biancolli, Director General of TV Monaco; Roland Weissmann, Director General at Austria’s ORF; and Simona Agnes, a board member of Italy’s Rai.
Milen Mitev, Director General of Bulgaria’s BNR joined the board last December, while Mykola Chernotytskyi of Suspilne Ukraine, Katja Wildermuth of Germany’s BR and Tim Davie of the BBC were previously elected to the board in 2021.
Monika Garbačiauskaitė-Budrienė of Lithuania’s LRT will be serving her third term as an EBU board member, and Nicolau Santos of Portugal’s RTP will be serving his second term.
Cunci said: “For 2025 and beyond, I believe we have a strong and effective team ready to serve the interests of public service media.”
The board will serve for a two-year period from January 2025 to December 2026.
