Azure chief technology officer Hanno Basse will lead a discussion on production in the cloud, with senior figures from Avid, Walt Disney Studios, Universal Pictures, Technicolor and MovieLabs set to share their thoughts on the subject during IBC SHOWCASE.
The ‘Collaborate, Create and Innovate: Production in the Cloud’discussion, which will take place at 13:00 on Thursday 10 September, will explore the state of production and examine how cloud, edge and AI can help transform creation workflows and potentially help to accelerate a return to industry production.
Joining Basse will be Annie Chang, VP, Creative Technologies, Universal Pictures, Eddie Drake, Head of Technology, Marvel Studios, Neil Beckford, VP Technology and Security, Technicolor, Jim Helman, CTO, MovieLabs and Ray Thompson, Avid. Together, they will speak about the evolution of content creation workflows, the role cloud and edge technologies can play and the work they are doing to help the creative community.
Those who attend the preceding session at 12:00, titled ‘Understanding Your Audience: Engaging and retaining your fans in these dynamic times’ will hear insights from US professional basketball team the Miami Heat, with Matthew Jafarian, EVP, Business Strategy at Miami Heat, Edson Crevecoeur, vice president, Strategy & Data Analytics at 601 Analytics and Miami Heat, along with Microsoft’s Mike Downey and host Vick Wowo, sports and brand partnerships lead for Microsoft Worldwide Commercial Business discussing the challenges faced by the sports and entertainment industry as fans demand more attention and need more encouragement than ever before. They will delve into how they leverage a digital strategy and technology that allows every member of their organisation to interact with their fans in more personal and impactful ways than ever before.
Finally, at 14:00, Microsoft will host a round table conversation with executives from key cloud distribution players, as they discuss how the cloud, AI toolsets and a dynamic distribution framework allowed for delivery businesses to absorb the demand spike driven by Covid-19. Speaker will include Erik Ramberg VP global business development, Mediakind, Shahar Bar SVP video products and corporate development, Harmonic, Chris Drake Global VP, Media & Entertainment, Verizon Media and David Sayed principal PM manager, Microsoft.
